Northern English dialects, particularly the Yorkshire dialect, retain Norse features not found in other English varieties.^[150] In the West Midlands, dialects such as Black Country (Yam Yam), and by less extent Birmingham (Brummie), preserve archaic features from early modern and Middle English, retaining Germanic elements such as specific grammatical structures and vocabulary.^[151]
