His daughters spoke less.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They laughed less often.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And whenever Emiliano returned from one of his business trips, he had the strange feeling that the atmosphere inside the house was different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He couldn’t explain why.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Then one evening, Patricia decided to talk to him about Rosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I think you trust her too much.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He wasn’t convinced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosa had worked for the family for years. She was quiet, responsible, and had always looked after the girls whenever his work required him to be away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But Patricia continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Maybe I’m wrong.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Those words should have reassured him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Instead, they planted a small doubt in his mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The playroom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The entrance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every important area of the house was visible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano sat down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I want to see what happens when everyone believes I’m actually gone.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The security chief nodded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the first few minutes, nothing unusual happened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosa organized the kitchen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The girls finished breakfast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Then let me handle this.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rosa remained quiet.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But she didn’t walk away completely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She stayed nearby.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emiliano watched every detail from the security room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And suddenly, he understood something he had failed to notice before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He had spent weeks looking for a reason to distrust Rosa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the time, Emiliano had assumed that his daughter simply preferred Rosa’s company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the screen, Rosa finally sat beside the girls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
