Eight years had passed since our last conversation.

It was from Daniel.

He wrote that his mother wanted to see me again and invited me to spend Christmas with the whole family.

I sat in silence for a moment.

I knew exactly what he expected to find.

On Christmas morning, I left home with my four children.
